BIOfutures 05/04/22

The third session in the BIOfutures Instagram IG Live series explored how emerging and anticipated developments in biomaterials, biofabrication, and biocomputing may shape the future of product, furniture, and interior design.

Issues discussed included how we may re-think design education, research, and practices to be in balance with the evolving ecological world, and how we create more opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Joining me in this session was Nancy Diniz, architect and cofounder of bioMATTERS - design and research studio developing work at the intersection of biological systems and computational design. Parallel to her practice, Nancy has published her work widely in the topics of biocomputation, biofabrication, computational and data driven design, and is Course Leader of the Masters in Biodesign at Central Saint Martins, UAL, London.
